To my 2016 self (also the time I stopped updating much on this blog and decided not to public with my parenting journey with each child):
It was tough taking the path of entrepreneurship. It was an ultimate test of grit and resilience. But the fruit of your labour would be sweet. You would have learned, relearned and unlearned so much in those years put together; you would have become that role model your children would be proud of; you would have inspired and created change and impacted lives in your own little ways you could never have imagined. It was a mad BUT fun ride.
The kids WILL grow up. You really need not sweat the small stuff. You will look back and miss them so small and so adorbs, tremendously.
In the year 2020, they will be 11, 10 and 8. Your tweens will start growing a teenage brain (Daniel Siegel’s book, Brainstorm, will be your go-to guide) and you will need to very patient with Ben. Get ready for Becky. And breathe a lot when it’s Nat’s turn.
The kids will hate being on social media and you taking photos. This blog will need to be about yourself more than about them. Start a diary or journal if you need a space to write about your thoughts and reflections.
Year 2020 will also be where mask-wearing will be the default fashion.
Hindsight will break your heart, but it also will give you motivation to be a better person. Things will get better because God, in 2020, is STILL GOOD.
